Can I Donate Unused Cat Litter
Cats of all ages can use litter boxes, and they make cleanup a breeze, whether theyre in a shelter or your own home. If you have a litter box to spare, think about donating it to an animal shelter. Many cats are litter box trained, meaning the shelter can get plenty of use out of these donated items.
Where Can I Sell My Cat
If you want to sell your cat, then you need to find a reputable animal shelter. Most shelters require proof of rabies vaccination, which costs about $25. Once you have done this, you should visit the shelter at least once a month to check for new cats. The best way to find a cat is to go to local pet stores, and ask them to put up posters around town.

Can You Donate Expired Cat Food
Some local shelters in my area use the rule of thumb of one year for unopened dry food and two years for canned and do accept donations of food past its best by date. Some do not accept any donations at all past the best by date. If the pet food looks off, has visible mold, or smells funny, dont feed it.

When Should You Throw Out Dry Cat Food
You can safely leave dry cat food out for several days and it wont spoil, but its best to throw out leftovers and wash the dish on a daily basis, to keep Fluffys food at its freshest. Keep in mind that dry food will grow stale within a day and may not be as appealing to your cat once this happens.F
The 8 Best Things To Donate To Your Local Cat Shelter
Shelters around the country rescue thousands of cats every day from dangerous and often life-threatening situations. Many shelters are run entirely by volunteers and depend on their communities for labor, money, and supplies to continue their work.
Since each shelter will inherently have its own unique set of needs and requirements, its best to touch base with them before gathering supplies to donate. Your shelter, for instance, may have a dependable source of cat food but may be desperate for litter. Having that information can help you determine the best way to help.
Here are eight ideas to get you started.

1. MoneyEven though shelters are generally run by non-paid volunteers, they need money to function and properly care for the cats they take in. Monetary donations will be used for generally shelter upkeep , direct cat care , and other needs as they arise.
If youd like to donate money to your local shelter but dont have the funds to do it out of your own pocket, consider organizing a fundraiser or getting involved with a fundraiser your shelter is already planning.

2. Your timeYour time can be donated to your local shelter in a number of ways. The most obvious way to volunteer your time is to work in the shelter itself. Shelters often count on volunteers to clean, feed cats, scoop litter boxes, groom, and transport cats to and from veterinarian appointments and adoption events.

We are one of very few cat facilities that accommodate animals with leukemia and FIV. We have separate areas for cats with special needs, so that they receive the care they require and other cats are not exposed to the conditions. In many jurisdictions, a positive diagnosis would mean euthanasia for many of these animals. At the RAPS Cat Sanctuary, they are enveloped in love and care for the rest of their lives.
Our Sanctuary is funded by private donations and through revenue from the Regional Animal Protection Society Thrift Store. Please consider helping our Sanctuary cats through a monthly sponsor or by making an online donation today. Speak with a team member to learn more on how you can help!

The phrase raining cats and dogs comes from the story of Noah and his ark. When God told Noah to build an ark, he asked him how long he should wait for the rain to stop. Helping Gloria Feed Her Five Pets For The Month
Twin Cities resident, Gloria, loves to sit in her front yard, basking in the sun with her three little poodles and two senior cats. As a single mom who took care of her five children on her own after a devastating divorce, the long-time pet lover worked multiple jobs, struggling to make ends meet for years. Her children have since grown up, but Gloria still faces financial challenges.
“I live on $700 a month I get from social security. I have to be really careful with every penny that comes my way,” says Gloria. “But I’m not embarrassed about my situation. I am a survivor and proud that I don’t waste a thing. I know how to stretch a dollar.”
Gloria has three poodles and two cats . The five animals are the highlight of her life. “They make my life so rewarding and so much better. I don’t know what I would do without them, especially since I live alone.”
Every month Gloria visits her local food shelf. Her visits help supplement her food pantry. Occasionally the food shelf has pet food, but not always. “Animal food is so expensive. I almost think it’s more expensive then human food. When they don’t have pet food, I just try to find people food that I can feed them.”
The long-time animal lover was surprised to see her food shelf was stocked with so much cat and dog food recently. She learned it was thanks to Animal Humane Society and GreaterGood.org‘s Rescue Bank.

We need a wide variety of food baby to senior: we like to give the same food an animal is used to eating if possible. Less chance of upset tummies that way. And smaller bags are easier to handle/divvy up. We can always give multiple small bags to a family, but we cannot open and divide a large bag for health and safety reasons.
