What To Expect When Visiting A Food Pantry Food Distribution Or Mobile Food Pantry
When you arrive, the agency representative will ask you to fill out a basic form to show that you live in the area and ask that you declare that you need help with food.
Consider bringing a food cart or several reusable bags to take your food to your final destination. Assistance may be limited. Be sure to ask how often you may visit or use services.
Many of our partners provide additional support services such as help paying for bills, job training, health services and help with transportation. You may be required to provide additional information to the agency to receive help.

Unlike traditional food pantries where you go to them, mobile pantry trucks come to you. Food banks sometimes have an online mobile food pantry schedule.
Mobile food pantry scheduled to visit a community once a week or once a month. There may be last-minute cancellations or changes so recheck the mobile food pantry schedule before you plan to go.

Wichita Falls Area Food Bank Begins Mobile Pantry
The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank launched a new mobile food pantry that will be an ongoing effort to have a hunger-free community.
Wichita Falls Area Food Bank Chief Executive Officer Kara Nickens said creating a mobile food service is something the bank has been wanting to do for years, but it is an expensive venue.
The San Antonio Food Bank generously donated a mobile pantry truck that they were taking out of service.
A team effort with United Regional Foundation/Childrens Miracle Network made it possible for the food bank to bring the mobile service to six different locations, once each per month.
When we mentioned the idea of a mobile pantry to United Regional, they thought it was an awesome idea. We worked on an agreement for them to sponsor the program, she said.
Wichita Falls Area Food Bank Chief Executive Officer Kara Nickens said United Regional agreed to sponsor the program for one year. The food bank is looking for additional business or corporate sponsors to expand and extend the program. Nickens said there is a great need for assistance in the Throckmorton and Archer City areas.
The move is an effort to bring nutritious food to noted food deserts in Wichita Falls and City View areas.
Food deserts are regions where there is limited access to fresh or nutritious groceries.
Each family will receive a Healthy Food Box and a bag of fresh produce.

The Salvation Army is dedicated to eliminating food insecurity.
The Salvation Army operates free local food banks around San Antonio, Texas from almost all of their local social service centers. The charity organization is involved in feeding millions of families each year, with a large percentage of those assisted being children as well as the elderly.

The Mobile Pantry Program Allows Us To Provide Healthy Food Options To Clients Seeking Food Assistance That May Live In Food Deserts
The Mobile Pantry program is an opportunity for our partner agencies to bring a bigger yield of perishable and non-perishable food directly to clients.
Partner agencies dedicate funding to bring our Mobile Pantry trucks to their facility to distribute food.
On the day of the event, the Mobile Pantry comes filled with a variety of produce, frozen and refrigerated product to provide supplemental food assistance to qualified families and individuals. Each Mobile Pantry vehicle can comfortably provide 200 families with up to 50 pounds of food.

Soldiers Angels Provides Monthly Food Assistance For San Antonio Veterans

Veterans in need of food support can register now to get approximately 75 lbs. of groceries, at no cost. Volunteers always needed to package and hand out the food.
San Antonio veteran food assistance is provided monthly to veterans in need by Soldiers Angels during the Veteran Mobile Food Distribution event. Veterans must register ahead of time to receive support.
Who Can Visit A Drive
Drive-thru pantries are open for anyone who needs help getting food. There are no eligibility criteria. Visitors do not need to provide any identification or income statements.
Only two piece of information is asked
- You Zipcode, and
- Number of people in their family.
You dont need to take appointment. Drive-thru pantries are first-come, first served so plan to arrive early.

How Do Drive
There are lot of volunteers help at Drive-thru food pantries. While not all drive-thru pantries operate in the same way, here�s how most work:
Staff and volunteers direct visitors to the parking area.
Visitors pull up to the pantry in their car and are usually guided into a clearly marked queue. As people move through the pantry, staff will continue to move the cars forward to get everyone through as quickly and safely as possible.
Checkin.
You are required to fill some information for Pantry’s recording keeping.
Food is loaded into the cars.
Pre-packed bags of food, usually full of shelf-stable items like pasta, canned fruit and peanut butter, as well as fresh produce and meats are loaded by volunteers into the trunk of the car.

Mountaineer Food Bank was created in 1981 and placed in Gassaway, WV in Braxton County due to its central location. Over the years, it has become the largest emergency food provider in West Virginia distributing over 23 million pounds annually.
MFB provides food and other household items to over 460 feeding programs in 48 counties in West Virginia. These programs include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior programs, Veterans Table programs, mobile pantry programs, school food pantry and backpack programs.
