Food Bank ID Cards Some food pantry sites listed on the map have Food Bank ID Cards available to help make food pick up simpler and quicker. The Food Bank ID cards allows those in need of food assistance to easily access many of our food distributions with the need to only register one-time. You can register for a Food Bank ID Card during your first visit at the sites who have Food Bank ID Cards listed under Helpful Tips.If you are a senior , please click the toggle button to show Senior Food Program sites, which are marked as red pins on the map. St Stephens Care Center Food Pantry
Catholic Charities can help with basic needs while you work toward self-sufficiency. St. Stephens CARE Center provides Compassion, Aid, Respect, and Empowerment to those who need us most.
St. Stephens CARE Center is a client-choice food pantry for those who need us most. Clients can shop for food just like a grocery store, but they checkout for free, providing dignity to all.
Our food pantry provides immediate food assistance including canned goods, dry goods, dairy products, meat, bread and pastries, and even fresh, organic produce from our own St. Phocas Garden. Diapers are also available for clients.
In addition to food and clothing, we are also distributing box fans for Project Cool, a program that provides free box fans to seniors in an effort to provide heat relief and prevent heat-related illness during the hot summer months.

Last weekend, the Food Bank held a quickly organized drives at Security Service Federal Credit Union branches and H-E-B Plus locations to help meet the demand, according to Cooper. However, the organization will still need help after Thanksgiving is over.
“Gifts of food, funds and volunteerism are needed year-round,” he added.

Our volunteer opportunities range from our sorting room, warehouse, curbside and mobile distributions, community kitchen, garden and farm, and more. Donate your time as an individual, group, or company all abilities and ages welcome.
COVID-19 NOTICE:Masks and temperature checks are now optional in San Antonio Food Bank facilities, including indoor and outdoor operations. We will continue thorough cleanings at all of our volunteer locations before, during, and after volunteer shifts. If you feel sick, please reschedule your visit for the safety of yourself and others. We will continue to monitor the virus within our community and make revisions to our policy accordingly.

Goodwill Supporting The San Antonio Food Bank
GIVE 5, GET $5 CAMPAIGN
During this holiday season, Goodwill San Antonio is sharing their goodwill and asking others to do the same in support of the San Antonio Food Bank.
With many individuals and families out of work and struggling to put food on the table as a result of the pandemic, Goodwill San Antonio is asking those who are able to donate 5 non-perishable food items to their nearest Goodwill San Antonio store. In return for food donations, Goodwill will provide each donor with a coupon for $5.00 off a Goodwill store purchase to be used that day.
The twelve most wanted food items for the San Antonio Food Bank include: Peanut butter, cereal, tuna, beans, rice, mac & cheese, chili & soups, baby food & diapers, canned lunch meat, pet food, full meals can/box, pop top food items.
Goodwill San Antonio is proud to support the San Antonio Food Bank whose work is helping to feed thousands of individuals and families in need this holiday season, said Penny Benavidez, director of public relations for Goodwill San Antonio. What We Do
At the San Antonio Food Bank , our “Mission” is to fight hunger in Southwest Texas through food distribution, programs, education and advocacy. The SAFB was founded in 1980. Sister Mary Helen Sullivan of the Catholic Archdioceses’ Human Development Office is recognized as the founder of the Food Bank. It is the oldest of Texas’ 19 America’s Second Harvest Food Banks. The SAFB is also one of the largest food banks in the America’s Second Harvest national network of over 200 food banks. In 2009 the SAFB distributed over 35 million pounds of food into the community. In one week, we provide emergency food assistance to 58,000 individuals. In addition to food distribution, the San Antonio Food Bank provides numerous programs that not only solve the immediate problems of hunger, but help individuals and families gain long-term food security.
Who We Are
The San Antonio Food Bank is a non-profit organization that serves as a clearing house by receiving and storing truck loads of donated food, produce, and other grocery products. SAFB distributes these items in 16 counties in manageable quantities to over 350 human service agencies that help people in need. All donated items are checked and then sorted by trained volunteers for the safety of the consumers.
