Adopt Technologies Launches Campaign To Benefit Phoenix Rescue Mission Food Bank And Meal Services
$100,000 goal set, with $10,000 of its own money set aside for matching funds
PHOENIX, Ariz. –Adopt Technologies is turning to its clients and the public to help Phoenix Rescue Mission which has seen a dramatic increase in demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Adopt Technologies has launched a fundraising campaign to support the relief organization, seeding the campaign with a $10,000 contribution, with the goal of generating a pool of $50,000 in corporate donations.
Adopt is hopeful that clients, partners and other businesses will strongly consider contributing to this pool of funds. Those donating will be recognized on the web page promoting this campaign https://www.adopttechnologies.com/adopt-gives-back as well as any other event promotions or recognitions that transpire. The company is hopeful to also generate enough individual contributions to fully match the pool of corporate donations as well. The goal is to raise a total of $100,000 for Phoenix Rescue Mission.
Hunger looks a lot like you and me. It knows no age, race, or gender. But it is fundamentally tied to poverty, and poverty is rampant in Arizona. Hope for Hunger Food Bank is an outreach of Phoenix Rescue Mission dedicated to addressing both hunger and poverty. Please help provide a meal and hope to our struggling neighbors.

The Salvation Army’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
The Salvation Army is continuing its longtime holiday tradition this year by holding its annual Thanksgiving dinner at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 24.
The organization is looking for volunteers to help with cooking, packing and plating meals, decorating, cleaning up, greeting and serving guests and delivering cooked meals to those who cannot attend the celebration in person.
Additionally, if you own a business or other organization, consider sponsoring a table at the event. Your name or logo will be posted on each of your sponsored tables as well as on other signage around the event.

Delivering Nutritious Food Where Its Needed Most
Because families who are facing hunger often lack the resources to travel to a food bank, Phoenix Rescue Mission sends Mobile Pantries to low income and underserved communities throughout the Valley. These communities, often classified as food deserts due to their lack of proper grocery stores, tend to have high concentrations of fast food and snack mart-styled stores.
Our Mobile Pantry distributions generally take place at community centers, churches, schools, and other highly visible, well-trafficked locations.

Turkey Tuesday Food Drive
The city of Mesa’s engineering department is hosting its 14th annual Turkey drive with help from United Food Bank.
The turkey drive will be Nov. 15 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Mesa Convention Center. Donate a frozen turkey or other Thanksgiving food, or make a cash donation.
The organization’s goal is to collect 2,000 turkeys and $20,000 in donations. Additionally, Desert Financial has vowed to match donations up to $50,000.

Holiday Campaign Gives Families Access To Food Boxes Turkeys Resources And More
Phoenix Rescue Mission, a provider of Christ-centered, life-transforming solutions to persons facing hunger, homelessness, addiction, and trauma, is excited to announce the launch of its annual Fed Up! Hungry for Change holiday campaign, which runs now through Dec. 31.
Phoenix Rescue Mission created the campaign in 2020 to start fixing how society has dealt with hunger in the past primarily by treating the symptoms of hunger without addressing the root causes that stem from a lack of vocational development, education, counseling, mental health services and other resources.
The holiday season can be an especially challenging time for families facing food insecurity, said Ken Brissa, CEO. Were not only aiming to give community members in need warm meals and food boxes with pantry items, but also equipping them with access to addiction recovery services, vocational development, job opportunities, counseling, case management, and many other life-transforming resources.
The campaign relies on public support and makes it easy for Arizonans to help, either through volunteering, making a donation online or by bringing food and other needed items directly to Phoenix Rescue Mission. The campaign will feature several events, including community markets, the Frozen Turkey Saturday, a Thanksgiving outreach event, a Christmas parade and a gift drive.

Phoenix Rescue Mission Hungry For Change
For the third year, Phoenix Rescue Mission is hosting its annual “Hungry for Change” series of holiday volunteer opportunities.
The Mission’s goal is to collect at least 1,500 turkeys on Nov. 12.
Saturday, Nov. 19 is the Mission’s Public Thanksgiving Outreach Event. Turkeys and sides will be delivered as well as food bags and hygiene kits on a first-come, first-served basis from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sullivan Elementary School, located at 2 N. 31st Avenue.

Thereâs an increase in the number of people who need help but thereâs also a decrease in the number of people available to help them.
According to a study led by Kirsten Gronbjerg, a nationally recognized scholar on nonprofit and public sector relationships, 31% of 339 nonprofits reporting said they suspended or ended their volunteer program. Furthermore, 37% of nonprofits reported increased stress from lack of volunteers.
