The Fort Collins Fresh Food Share is one of the Food Banks two fresh food pantries. Clients can choose from a variety of fresh foods, including fruits, vegetables, milk, cheese, bread and yogurt. Through Food Share, guests can also receive government commodities through The Emergency Food Assistance Program . Eligible seniors can also pick up senior boxes through the Commodities Supplemental Food Program .

Great Plates Of Downtown Raises $133736 To Benefit Food Bank For Larimer County
The Fort Collins Downtown Development Authority , the Food Bank for Larimer County, and the 48 participating downtown Fort Collins restaurants are thrilled to announce the 2022 Great Plates fundraising total. This years promotion raised a record-breaking $133,736 in donations for the Food Bank!
Forty-eight downtown restaurants welcomed patrons to celebrate Great Plates for a 17th consecutive year. From March 1 14, participating downtown restaurants offered up limited-time-only $25 menu specials and $2.50 a la carte items. After enjoying their meal, diners were encouraged to share a meal with a neighbor in need by donating directly to the Food Bank. One hundred percent of donation proceeds support the Food Banks mission to, Provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs.
Serving as a community fundraiser, Great Plates is a Downtown dining tradition, highly anticipated by both the restaurant community and patrons. Since forming a partnership with the Food Bank in 2008, donations have grown from a humble $7,360 raised by 29 participating businesses to an impressive $133,736 in 2022 with 48 participants. This years donation total was possible due to the hard work of participating restaurants, their staff, and the donations provided by the community at large.

City & County Food & Fund Drive
For more than 30 years, the City of Fort Collins, City of Loveland, and Larimer County have participated in the Food Bank for Larimer Countys Food & Fund Drive Competition, a competition pitting each organization against each other. From bake sales to holiday parties and burrito drives, each department utilizes different incentives and promotions to raise the most funds or food for the Food Bank for Larimer County.

The Food Bank is hosting mobile food pantries throughout Larimer County. Anyone in need of food is welcome to attend. The Poudre High School mobile food pantry is drive-through where clients can receive a variety of pre-selected food items. Spanish translation will be available.

The Food Bank ensures that those in our community who are hungry have convenient access to free, healthy and nutritious food.
We’re feeding Larimer County with three distinct programs:
For tens of thousands of households facing tough choices to make ends meet, cutting back on food is often the solution. But it comes at a steep price. For children, hunger impacts the ability to learn. For adults, the ability to work. For seniors, the ability to manage illness and maintain health.

Food Bank Days Of Service
The Food Bank has expanded its Fresh Food Share pantry days of operation in Fort Collins and Loveland.
- The Blue Spruce Dr. pantry in Fort Collins and the Lincoln Ave. pantry in Loveland now operate Tuesday through Saturday.
- The daily hours of operation remain 10am-3pm at both locations.
- Safe and contactless food distribution will continue via a drive-up model.
- Face coverings are required for staff, volunteers and clients while at the Food Bank.
The Food Bank has expanded the days of operation at its two pantries so clients can more easily access services. The change to a Tuesday through Saturday schedule means those clients who work during the week will be able to shop on Saturday at either pantry. This change nearly doubles the current COVID-19 service hours at the Food Banks pantries.
Seniors can access Commodities Supplemental Food Program boxes during the same Tuesday through Saturday schedule, from 10am-3pm.

Food Share Fresh Food Pantry
The Food Bank operates two fresh food pantries, called Food Share, one in Loveland and one in Fort Collins. Through each pantry, we provide bread, dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables and non-perishable food items free of charge to qualified individuals. All of the food provided through this program is donated to us by local retailers, farms as well as national growers and manufacturers.
Both Food Share locations also administer two government commodity programs: The Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Commodities Supplement Food Program . Through TEFAP, qualifying individuals receive United States Department of Agriculture commodities one time per month. Commodities typically consist of non-perishable and/or frozen food items. Income qualifying seniors, 60 years and older, can also qualify for CSFP. Learn more here.

Donate Food & Essentials
The Food Bank for Larimer County accepts donated food, including shelf-stable items such as canned and dry goods as well as dairy, meat, bakery items and fresh produce. We adhere to strict food safety guidelines for the food that we accept. Our staff is trained to pay close attention to date codes, especially with refrigerated products. Most of the dates on the food we distribute are not expiration dates they are best if used by or sell by dates. This means the product is wholesome beyond the date on the product.
In addition to food items, we also gladly accept non-food items like diapers, baby wipes, deodorant, toothpaste, menstrual products and other essentials that help our clients live healthy and rewarding lives.

What Is Plant It Forward
In partnership with the Gardens on Spring Creek, the Food Bank for Larimer County launched Plant It Forward in 2011. Plant It Forward is an effort to increase local produce donations from backyard gardeners.
All community members are invited and challenged to plant an extra row in their garden! When your crop is ready, drop it off at either the Food Bank for Larimer County or the Gardens on Spring Creek. No donation is too small!
In 2020, local gardeners donated more than 47,000 pounds of fresh produce.

Great Plates Of Downtown
Great Plates of Downtown is a partnership between the Food Bank, the Downtown Development Association and participating Old Town Fort Collins restaurants. For two weeks in March, restaurants offer dining specials and encourage patrons to leave their change for the Food Bank. Join us March 1 through March 14, for delicious specials for a great cause.
Each growing season, Larimer County residents are asked to plant it forward in an effort to provide fresh produce for neighbors in need. Plant It Forward is a joint partnership between the Food Bank and the Gardens on Spring Creek.

Food For People Not Landfills
Billions of pounds of food go to waste each year in the United States. The Food Bank for Larimer County helps to eliminate some of that waste by rescuing surplus food from manufacturers, distributors, supermarkets, processors and brokers and distributing that food to those in need.
A great deal of food cannot be marketed by its manufacturer due to product overruns, off specifications, short-dated products, reformulations, mislabeled and unlabeled packaging and discontinued brands, but is perfectly suitable for consumption. This is where the Food Bank for Larimer County steps in.
Our food rescue program is an important and viable source of nutritious food for the Food Bank for Larimer County and our member agencies. Each week, our drivers visit more than 30 local retail outlets in Larimer County, including Walmart/Sams Club, King Soopers, Safeway, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Luckys Market, Entenmanns, Target and Sprouts to pick up surplus foods such as fresh meats and produce, dairy items, baked goods and non-perishable canned goods. This is great food that would otherwise be thrown away, but instead, we distribute it through our hunger-relief programs, including Food Share and our mobile pantries.
