You can support the Los Angeles Public Library in several ways:
- Join a Friends group. There is a Friends of the Library group for most branch libraries and departments of the Central Library. Friends groups raise money for improvements to their library through memberships, used book sales and other activities. For more information or talk to your local librarian.
- Join the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. The Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds for Library enhancement programs such as adult and early literacy, children and teen reading clubs, technology, and cultural programs. Foundation members receive a variety of benefits with their membership. For more information, see .

What We Aim To Solve
Food insecurity in Los Angeles County has continued to be pervasive. Continued increases in the cost of living, including and especially housing, coupled with stagnant wages, means that hundreds of thousands of families in our communities struggle to put food on the table. One in five people in Los Angeles County experience food insecurity, representing 20% of the population and affecting more than 2 million people. One in four children in Los Angeles County is food insecure.

Please join us on our Community Impact Day at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in association with the UCLA Volunteer Center and Serve LA 2022, a citywide service day. We will be assembling food packages for over 29,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. By giving just a little of our time, we can make a big difference in our community. Minimum age requirement is 18. All volunteers must wear closed-toe/closed-heel shoes. Plenty of free parking available on-site.The event ends at 1 p.m. Registration deadline is September 22. This event was set up by the Civic Engagement Task Force of the Alumni Association Board.

La Food Bank Bags City Of Industry Facility For $52m
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank acquired a 255,878-square-foot building in the City of Industry for $52.1 million. The seller of the property located at 2300 Pellissier Place was Haralambos Leasing Company.
The facility features a large fenced yard, ample parking, freeway frontage and a 24,836-square-foot office mezzanine. The property is ideally located just a half mile south of the intersection of the 60 and 605 Freeways and is nestled in the heart of Los Angeles County.
NKFs John McMillan, Jeff Sanita, Danny Williams and Greg Stumm represented the buyer. Lee & Associates Jack Cline and Peter Bacci represented the seller.
McMillan says We had been looking for a building of this size and quality for the LA Food Bank to acquire for over a decade the one to two options that popped up every year would quickly get acquired by institutional investors. When we discovered this building could be purchased, we wasted no time in seizing the opportunity.

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CALIF. Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has purchased an industrial facility located at 2300 Pellissier Place in City of Industry, a suburb of Los Angeles. Haralambos Leasing Co. sold the asset for $52.1 million.
The 255,878-square-foot property features a large fenced yard, ample parking, freeway frontage and a 24,836-square-foot office mezzanine. Situated in the heart of Los Angeles County, the building is located a half mile south of the intersection of the 60 and 605 freeways.
John McMillan, Jeff Sanita, Danny Williams and Greg Stumm of Newmark Knight Frank represented the buyer, while an outside firm represented the seller in the transaction.
