Ukraines children are caught in the crossfire of this adult war. It should never have come to this.
Save the Children has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, delivering essential humanitarian aid to children and their families. Your donation to the Children’s Emergency Fund can help provide children and families impacted by the conflict in Ukraine and around the world with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance. About Lviv Vegan Kitchen
Lviv Vegan Kitchen is a volunteer project based in the Vega Room restaurant. We serve free vegan meals for refugees, feeding almost 200 people daily. Also, we provide humanitarian aid to vegans all over Ukraine, to the armed forces and vegan food to refugee shelters.
From the first day of war weve been volunteering first in the kitchen which makes dry soups for UAF, then at the railway station . At the station, we noticed that theres a lot of vegans among volunteers and refugees, but there are no food options for them. The next morning after our night shift at the railway station, the idea of a vegan kitchen appeared. First, we thought about cooking at home, but our friends from Vega Room offered their place and equipment. So on March 2nd, we launched our project.

Why Support For Education Matters
Getting children back to learning is a critical step in restoring normalcy in their lives after months of war and years of COVID-19 disruptions. Schools and other spaces that enable children to learn ideally together with friends provide both an education and a crucial sense of structure and safety to children. In addition, education can be an entry point for delivering other critical services, including psychosocial support that can help children heal and rebuild their lives, as well as immunization.
The sooner children are able to learn and interact with classmates and teachers in a school environment, the faster they catch up and recover particularly the most vulnerable children. It is essential that every child is reached, their learning gaps are assessed, and that they are given the opportunity to catch up on lost learning.
For some children, this may mean learning in a traditional classroom. For many others, it may mean online learning at home, or in neighborhood clusters. In fact, millions of children in Ukraine and abroad are already using online and distance learning options. But enormous obstacles remain, including capacity and resource constraints, language barriers, and unpredictable movements of children and their families.
Ultimately, providing every child with safe access to education and a sense of security is critical to their ability to learn, thrive, and begin to recover and heal.

How To Help Provide Food Relief To The People Of Ukraine

As the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine continues, groups around the world are showing their support for the Ukrainian people. Governments, non-profits, and local communities are all doing their best to help provide basic needs, such as food, medicine, and shelter to those suffering from these unimaginable hardships.
But individuals are contributing to the cause as well, offering whatever services or funds they can. They inspire us to lend our support for those suffering in Ukraine. One such example is Slava Dutchak, a Virginia woman who raises money for Ukraine by holding borscht cooking classes. She calls borscht the most Ukrainian thing there is. Partnering with local businesswoman Radhika Murari, Dutchak is teaching others to cook the traditional beet soup through online classes.
Slava and Radhika have helped raise almost $200,000 so far. Dutchak is also baking cookies and selling them through her Instagram page, Honey Love Cakery, to raise funds for Ukraine. Together, these two women have contributed to the cause of Chef Jose Andress World Central Kitchen. He has been working in Ukraine, Romania and Poland to help feed those who have been displaced by the conflict.
What can you do to help? Consider donating to these organizations working to supply food and other necessities to Ukrainians in need.

Where Have Donations Been Spent And How Much Has Made Its Way Inside Ukraine
Inside Ukraine, Red Cross reports spending $202 million. This is split between two separate and distinct Red Cross charities working in Ukriane the International Committee of Red Cross and Ukrainian Red Cross .
So far, ICRC has received $192.6m and Ukrainian Red Cross has received $9.8m from Red Cross partners1. Its alarming how little money URC has received. Both charities are doing lifesaving work inside Ukraine, so why is ICRC receiving almost 20 times more funding?
With the war, Ukrainian Red Cross is spending $8 million a month. With the funding it has received, URC can continue its activities at current levels for roughly four months or until the end of August2. But as the war continues, especially as fighting intensifies in the Donbas region, URC may have to scale up its relief work.
