In Our Abundance We Are Called To Give Back
Not long before our world was consumed by news of the coronavirus, 16-year-old Natalie Anderson traveled to Guatemala with Food For The Poors Radio Media team. The best experiences in my life often come as surprises, out of thin air, and my journey to Guatemala alongside Food For The Poor was no different. The opportunity
Why Should We Donate
It is the need of the hour, and if one is privileged, it is our duty to help the needy. Lord says: as a privileged/ respectable person does, so shall the common man follow . So let each of us set an example, the others can follow.
With privilege comes responsibility, right? Now is the time to take up this responsibility on one’s shoulders. Does not matter how small, to serve your fellow humans is to serve God. Let us serve them by providing basic sustenance.
Also giving food as charity is a part of our Vedic culture, it is integral to our heritage. Where our motto has always been: Simple living and High thinking, Paropkar Paramo Dharma, the question we should ask is not why We should donate to feed the poor?, BUT instead, how many can I feed today? Donation is a means for hunger alleviation from society at large.

All fifty states and the District of Columbia have additional food donation statues that limit food donors liabilitythese currently vary widely, such as by who , and what foods and food products are covered. The Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel has interpreted the Act as preempting state laws that provide less liability protection to donors. In simple language, this means that under the DOJs interpretation, state laws may provide greater protection against liability, but not less. The Good Samaritan Act serves as a floor or minimum bar for states food donation statutes.

Inflation In Germany Weakened Slightly
For the first time since July, inflation in Germany has weakened somewhat, but it is still high.
Consumer prices rose by 10 percent in November compared to the same month last year, as the Federal Statistical Office announced in an initial estimate at the end of November.
Earlier, the annual inflation rate rose for three consecutive months, reaching 10.4 percent in October.
However, economists see no reason to give the all-clear, also because many suppliers have announced significantly higher electricity and gas prices for January.
Compared to October, consumer prices fell by 0.5 percent in November.
Economists question whether inflation has already peaked.
Some economists do not expect it until the turn of the year.
Especially when it comes to supposed staple foods, those affected repeatedly warn about price developments.
“#I’m poor and don’t know how to pay such prices,” wrote another Twitter user at the beginning of November and also showed a sign from a Rewe branch: 450 grams of Gouda own brand for 4.39 euros.

How Specific Is The Organization About How It Spent Its Funds
Food for the Poor Reports:
The $20,744,144 Food For The Poor raised for Haiti emergency earthquake relief had been spent entirely on those efforts by the end of September. The funds were used for purchasing food and other critical items that were not donated, as well as for shipping containers of relief to the country. Some of the relief money went toward building emergency sanitation facilities as well as providing clean water sources.5

Story Of Uday Foundation
Disturbed by sons illness, Rahul Verma started Uday foundation in 2007
Rahul and Tulika Verma were hit with unfortunate news in 2006 their son, Arjunuday, had been born with congenital defects and would probably require expensive medical treatment for his entire life. They could picture themselves spending most of their time in hospitals, either for consultations or surgeries.
A feeling of compassion for people suffering the same fate engulfed the couple, and they realised just how important it is for both parents and children, irrespective of background, to have access to quality healthcare.
Looking at the depression all around them, they decided to do something to honour their son, and that was how the Uday Foundation, for the healthcare of the disadvantaged sections of society, especially children, came about.Learn More

Good Samaritan Act Provides Liability Protection For Food Donations
Food donations to help those in need have been an important part of Americas safety net during the challenges posed by COVID-19. Did you know that the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act of 1996 provides limited liability protection for people who make good faith donations of food and grocery products to nonprofits that feed the hungry? The act also provides limited liability protection, both civil and criminal, for those who distribute food and groceries, such as food banks.
If you have not heard about this act, you are not alone. This lack of awareness of the Good Samaritan Act prompted Congress in the 2018 Farm Bill to call for USDA to raise awareness of the liability protection afforded by the act. As USDAs Food Loss and Waste Liaison, I am leading outreach efforts to let businesses involved with food donations from farm-to-fork know about this limited liability protection.
In order to receive protection under the act, a person or gleaner must donate in good faithapparently wholesome food or apparently fit grocery products to a nonprofit organization for ultimate distribution to needy individuals. It does not cover direct donations to needy individuals or families. The act also provides protection against civil and criminal liability to the nonprofit organizations that receive such donated items in good faith.
So, what does this really mean? Lets take one bite at a time.

Across the island of Jamaica, areas once covered with shade trees and lush fruit trees are shockingly barren. Tiny Greeter Huge Welcome
Every time the front door opened at a rural nutrition center in Guatemala that I was visiting with our team, 4-year-old Dervy marched right up to each visitor. I watched as he smiled broadly, spread his little arms in a sweeping motion across the entryway and then gleefully shouted, ¡Bienvenido!, the Spanish word for welcome.
