JWAC FOOD DRIVE

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service.

We ask that you prayerfully consider a substantial gift to the St Vincent de Paul Society so we can continue working to help with the necessities of life for the hungry and the homeless here in Memphis.

The Food Mission serves an average of 300 people a day. Please help us . . . help others.

A large focus of The Society since 1865 has been the assistance of individuals that call for help. That help may include assistance with utility bills, food baskets, rent or mortgage assistance. It could also include help paying medical bills and whatever else the person may need to get back on their feet.

This calling has guided our work at SVdP since our beginnings and continues today. We believe in the sacredness of every human life and do not tolerate racism and exclusion in any form. We call on members of the Body of Christ to help bring about reconciliation in our communities. Pray for those who work for peace and justice. Advocate for policies that combat racism. And, perhaps most importantly, examine your heart for how you can promote unity, support one another, and end racial divide.

Salvation Army Of Nelas Red Kettle Donations Drop Down

    Donations â Saint Mark

MONROE, La. – The Salvation Army of Northeast Louisiana is lacking in donations for its annual fundraiser.

Captain Jerry Casey says the organization is having issues with gaining volunteers to ring the bell this year.

The Salvation Army of NELA normally kicks off the Red Kettle campaign the day after Thanksgiving, which is the organizations largest fundraiser of the year. In 2022, the campaign started the week before Thanksgiving, but donations are slowing down.

The Red Kettle assists low-income families with utility bills, food, and the organizations two shelters for women and children, and men.

First-time bell ringer for the Salvation Army of NELA, Paul Spillman, says people might be hesitant to give because they believe they dont have enough to give.

The Salvation Army of NELA and other local nonprofits across the region are participating in Giving Tuesday 2022 on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, where the community can donate and support their favorite organizations.
