How To Drop Off Your Food Donations
Make sure you know the business hours before you go, and give them a call to confirm your visit .
It would be best not to stuff your automobile to the gills with food. Avoid making repeated journeys by bringing a buddy or two along to help carry some of the weight. Please check the foods condition before donating it.
Please let the food bank know you are dropping off a contribution by checking in at the front desk when you arrive. Dont just drop off your food contributions to the food bank hang around and get a feel for what theyre all about. There is a possibility that you may acquire knowledge about local food insecurity and hunger. Ask if there is any way you may contribute as a virtual volunteer if you are unable to help out at the food bank physically.

Food Donations From Individuals
While we appreciate the support we received from food drives over the years, weve had issues with the varying levels of food quality through third-party food drives. On average, up to 30% of the food we receive ends up being SPOILED, DAMAGED, or UNSAFE to eat.
After much consideration, we have decided to move away from food drives as of January 2022.

Donate Food & Essentials
The Food Bank for Larimer County accepts donated food, including shelf-stable items such as canned and dry goods as well as dairy, meat, bakery items and fresh produce. We adhere to strict food safety guidelines for the food that we accept. Our staff is trained to pay close attention to date codes, especially with refrigerated products. Most of the dates on the food we distribute are not expiration dates they are best if used by or sell by dates. This means the product is wholesome beyond the date on the product.
In addition to food items, we also gladly accept non-food items like diapers, baby wipes, deodorant, toothpaste, menstrual products and other essentials that help our clients live healthy and rewarding lives.

Amazon Smile can help you find and donate items online. Many hunger relief organizations have set up an that will provide you with a list of items they want and need. Items you purchase from the list will be delivered directly to the organization of your choice. By typing words like hunger relief or food in the search bar, Amazon Smile will provide you with a list of related organizations. Feeding America estimates 42 million Americans are food insecure, and over 13 million children are currently living in food insecure households. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity has drastically increased for over 10 million Americans. Unsurprisingly, children, minorities, and the elderly populations are disproportionately impacted. It is critical that our local food systems have a source of fresh and healthy foods available to distribute to our underserved populations.
Now, thinking back to this story, how can this mother and child make sure their nutritional needs are met? Well, they can go to hunger relief organizations to receive the food they need. And here is where you can come in! You can drop off food donations to your local hunger relief organizations. Those organizations will then redistribute these resources to food insecure families in your local community.
The main goal of hunger relief organizations is to provide a source of food to populations in need. Hunger relief organizations form partnerships with individual donors, community retailers, distributors, government agencies, and other organizations to distribute food to food insecure families.
