In Ontario, the legislative system regulates your rights to sue and recover damages for injuries sustained as a result of a motor vehicle accident, even if you were not at-fault. All drivers, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians are entitled to claim for accident benefits if they are injured in a motor vehicle accident. This is true regardless of who is determined to be at-fault for the accident or whether the injured person has his or her own insurance.

Income Replacement Benefits :

You are entitled to a percentage of your net income if you are unable to perform the essential tasks of your occupation or employment during the first 104 weeks of disability, within certain limits. Thereafter, you can continue to receive these benefits as long as you are continuously disabled from any occupation for which you are reasonably suited by education, training and experience.

Non-Earner Benefits

You are entitled to this if you are not employed and suffer from a complete inability to carry on a normal life as a result of the injuries from the accident. Non-earner benefits are not payable for the first six months after the accident.

Caregiver Benefits

You are entitled to this if you are the primary unpaid caregiver of a person in need , plus an additional sum for each additional person in need of care.

Medical and Rehabilitation Benefits

You are entitled to this if you are a student.

Food Bank Of Northwest Indiana Mobile Market Helps Curb Hunger In Lake Porter Counties

‘People are able to keep their dignity, they’re staying in their car, they’re not feeling like they’re less than’

The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Mobile Market is helping curb hunger by traveling to communities in Lake and Porter counties.

VALPARAISO, Ind. — Five days a week, volunteers and staff at the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana are making it easier for their neighbors to get access to free and nutritious food, all from the comfort of their car.

“People are able to keep their dignity, they’re staying in their car, they’re not feeling like they’re less than but two, you’re also mitigating the transportation barrier,” said Victor Garcia, president and CEO of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

The food bank’s Mobile Market Program travels to specific communities in Lake and Porter counties facing food insecurity.

“Sometimes we have people who are living in poverty, sometimes we have folks who recently lost a job and are just trying to get by for a short period of time,” said Garcia. “Here at the food bank we don’t turn people away.”

And with the price of food skyrocketing, every little bit helps.

“It helps with the basics, and you have to worry about the majority.” said Tasha Gasper of Lake Station. “I’m a single mom of four kids, and then I got my mother, so it’s really hard right now.”

And that love is something the volunteers and staff make sure to share with a helping hand and caring face.

How Does A Drive

Guests remain in their vehicles and Food Bank staff or volunteers load food into trunks and truck beds. Walk-up service is also available. If walking-up, we recommend bringing a cart or bag to help carry the food. The low-contact, no-contact drive-thru style provides maximum safety for individuals receiving food, as well as for staff and volunteers conducting the distribution.

Central Texas Food Bank Announces November Drive

WACO/TEMPLE, Texas The Central Texas Food Bank is in need of volunteers to assist with some upcoming events.

The Food Bank will distribute free food to help those facing increased food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic. These food distributions are primarily designed as drive-thru events. However, no one in need of food will be turned away. Attendees will receive an assortment of food items including protein, produce and dairy products totaling between 60 and 66 pounds depending on available supplies.

Temple Cte Department Reaches New Heights

The Temple High School Career & Technical Education Department is celebrating its continued impact on TISD students after posting some impressive results during the 2021-2022 school year.

The Temple High School CTE department released those numbers as part of the programs year-end celebration.

A total of 186 students combined to earn 243 industry based certifications during the 2021-2022 academic year. Those certifications covered 15 different disciplines.

The CTE department also qualified 40 students for state competitions and completed 244 service-based learning projects and events.

Both of those totals are more than double the number from the 2020-2021 school year. The increased number of students earning certifications is a particular point of pride for the department because of the direct impact it has on their ability to get hired.

When students earn industry recognized certifications, this shows employers they are ready to meet the technical challenges the workplace presents, said Denise Ayres, director of CTE for Temple schools.

It shows students have the knowledge and skill necessary to be value add to a team and it shows these students will need less on the job training than someone without this knowledge and skill, thus, they are ready to jump right into the work at hand, she said.


There Is No Need To Register For Mobile Pantry Pick Up It Is First Come First Served You Must Have A Vehicle To Pick Up Unless Otherwise Specified

Mobile Pantry participants are requested to give their name, share their family size, and provide zip code where their family resides to receive food. No proof is necessary.

If you need food assistance this holiday season or any time during the year, please locate a food pantry nearby that provides food and often other services.

Food Distribution Site At Cajun Field To Open Friday For Covid

UL Lafayette is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank and United Way of Acadiana to establish a drive-thru food distribution site at Cajun Field for people experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The distribution site will be open from 2-4 p.m. Friday. Volunteers wearing gloves and face masks will load boxes of food into vehicles, said Gretchen Lacombe Vanicor, director of UL Lafayettes Office of Sustainability.

Motorists should enter the distribution site from Cajundome Boulevard, at Gate 5 on Reinhardt Drive. Attendees are encouraged to wear face masks and gloves.

Food will be provided for anyone in need of assistance while supplies last. Organizers estimate to have enough food on hand for between 1,000 and 1,500 families. Registration isnt required.

The distribution site is not a drop-off point for donations. Vanicor, however, said donations are continually needed to keep shelves at Second Harvest, United Way and the Universitys Campus Cupboard stocked.

Campus Cupboard is a resource for undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty and staff members who require short-term assistance meeting their food needs.

Food donations brought to the distribution site will be redirected to the Second Harvest warehouse at 215 E. Pinhook Rd.

Central Texas Food Bank Sets December Food Distribution Events

AUSTIN, TX The Central Texas Food Bank on Monday announced food distribution events in December for those facing food insecurity amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Food bank officials also seeks volunteers to assist with the scheduled events along with sorting in the warehouse. Anyone interested in volunteering to support the Food Bank at this critical time should visit the Food Banks website,, and click on Volunteer to sign up.

The scheduled events are:

  • Saturday, Dec. 5: Nelson Field, 7105 Berkman Dr., 9 a.m. until noon.

  • Thursday, Dec. 10: Travis County Expo Center, 7311 Decker Lane, 9 a.m. until noon.

  • Saturday, Dec. 12: Lehman High School, 1700 Lehman Rd., Kyle, Texas, from 9 a.m. until noon.

  • Monday, Dec. 21: Nelson Field, 7105 Berkman Dr., from 9 a.m. until noon.

How Does It Work

  • Depending on the events privacy settings, an event can be promoted by any group, or may be restricted to promotions within their network.
  • Promotions for affiliate groups or community partners are automatically approved once requested.
  • Otherwise a request is sent to the event organizer for review and approval.
  • Once approved, your groups members will see the event listed on your group page!

Clubs and groups are welcome to get involved, but because of workplace safety and liabilities and the small size of our warehouse, we cannot accommodate large groups or young children during regular morning hours of operation. Central Texas Food Bank Announces July Schedule For Drive

AUSTIN, Texasâ On four days in July, the Central Texas Food Bank will distribute free food in the Austin area to help those who are facing increased food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At these special drive-through food distributions, attendees will receive :

  • One box of assorted produce
  • 1-2 gallons of milk
  • One protein box weighing between 8 20 pounds containing chicken or pork products
  • And/or an emergency box of shelf-stable items, as available

Due to COVID-19, pickup will only be available to those with cars and no walk-ups will be allowed. Anyone coming to pick up food is asked to make appropriate space in their trunk before arriving.

Central Texas Food Bank needing helping hand due to increased demand during COVID-19 pandemic

The Central Texas Food Bank says that since the start of the pandemic, the demand for food has been exceptionally high

âWe also ask that you attend this event only if you are facing true food insecurity since our resources are stretched to the limit,â says the food bank.

Food will be distributed at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, July 9 from 8-11 a.m.: Nelson Field on Berkman Drive in Austin
  • Thursday, July 16 from 8-11 a.m.: Toney Burger Stadium on Jones Road in Austin
  • Thursday, July 23 from 8-11 a.m.: Del Valle High School on Ross Road in Del Valle
  • Saturday, July 25 from 8-11 a.m.: Nelson Field on Berkman Drive in Austin

The Food Bank is also asking for monetary donations due to the strain caused by the pandemic.

Horse Food Recalled After 45 Deaths Fda Says

A snack for horses is being recalled after 45 horses died from eating it, according to the FDA.

Manzanola Feeds is voluntarily recalling certain lots of Top of the Rockies Alfalfa Cubes because they may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a potentially fatal type of bacteria. It is toxic to both humans and animals.

Common symptoms of infection may include dizziness, blurred or double vision, trouble with vocalizing or swallowing, difficulty breathing, muscle weakness, abdominal distension and constipation. Animals experiencing these symptoms should receive immediate medical attention.

The recalled Top of the Rockies Alfalfa Cubes are approximately 1-inch cubes, packaged in a 50-pound bag, and are labeled with the following codes: 111222, 111322, 111422, 111522 and 111622.

The code can be found on the front of the bag, near the top of the bag. The code represents the month, day and year the cubes were manufactured.

The recalled product was distributed directly to the following states:

However, further distribution may be possible, so the FDA says is important to check if you have this product even if you live outside of these 10 states.

The FDA urges anyone with these alfalfa cubes to not feed them to horses or any other animals. Throw them away in a secure container and place them in a covered trash can or dumpster so that no other animals can access them.

If you think your horse has become ill after eating this food, call your veterinarian right away.
