Donating food or money to the North Texas Food Bank in place of community service hours is offered through the court/probation system. It is up to your individual probation office/court to approve this option and to determine the equivalency between a donation of food/money and the correct number of community service hours.

When a nonprofit organization joins the NTFB as a Partner Agency, they become our partner in hunger relief and getting both donated and purchased foods to the families and individuals who need them. Prior to COVID-19, Partner Agencies shared in the cost of handling this food by contributing a per-pound handling fee with the exception of perishable items such as fresh vegetables. Due to the increased demand for our Feeding Network, NTFB has waived all handling fees to ensure our partners can meet the need in the months ahead.

Toyota Industries Commercial Finance, Inc. is proud to support the North Texas Food Banks fight against food insecurities through associate volunteer hours and financial support. NTFB corporate volunteer opportunities have allowed TICF associates to foster team and relationship building at the distribution center. The volunteer opportunities are planned by associates and involve individuals across the organization.

NTFB provided an easy-to-use volunteer portal which helped me to organize our volunteer event and bring together associates from across the organization. It felt great to work together and give out boxes of food and fresh produce to those in need in our community.

On August 23, 2022, TICF donated $10,000 to the North Texas Food Bank. This donation goes toward NTFBs Nourish North Texas Campaign. For every $1 donated to the NTFB, three nutritious meals are provided to our neighbors. TICFs donation provides access to 30,000 meals for families in need. Food Assistance And Snap Faqs

A food bank is a non-profit that safely stores millions of pounds of food that will soon be delivered to local food programs, like a food pantry. The food stored by food banks is donated from local neighbors, retailers, grocery stores, and restaurants.

A food pantry is a distribution center where hungry families can receive food. Supplied with food from a food bank, pantries feed hundreds of people per week! Because every community is different, there are many different types of pantries.

NTFB works with a network of more than 200 Partner Agencies and provides access to food at more than 1,000 feeding locations in our service area. Partner Agencies include food pantries, after school programs, senior meal programs, shelters, soup kitchens, and other facilities.

The Social Services Assistance Team of the food bank is a Community Partner building a bridge between Health and Human Services and communities in our service area to provide access to food, cash, and healthcare assistance. While the SSA Team assists with the application process, we do not determine eligibility. HHSC processes the applications and determines eligibility and has up to 30 days to process your SNAP application.

North Texas Food Bank Receives $10 Million+ Donation From The Perot Family

NORTH TEXAS The North Texas Food Bank just got a lot of help with their efforts to feed the hungry. The food bank received a $10.5 million donation from the Perot family.

A portion of the money is earmarked to support the food banks annual operating expenses, but the majority of the money is going to the Feeding North Texas Foundation which works with a network of partner agencies that help feed the hungry across North Texas.

The pandemic both exposed and amplified food insecurity in our region. So, in response to that the North Texas Food Bank launched the Nourish North Texas Vision. It not only provides food for today but hope for tomorrow to reduce some of the barriers for food access, explained NTFB Chief External Affairs Officer Erica Yaeger. The Perots generous gift of $10.5 million will fund an endowment so we can ensure, that regardless of the economic landscape, that were able to provide access to food for those who need it but its also to help cover the increased costs right now due to the elevated need.
