How To Start A Pet Food Donation Drive
There are a number of ways you can get involved in donating pet food to those in need. One way is to start your own pet food donation drive. This is a great way to get friends, family, and members of your community involved in giving back.
Here are a few tips on how to get started:
1. Choose a pet food bank or rescue group to donate to. Do some research to find an organization that aligns with your values and that you feel good about supporting.
2. Spread the word about your donation drive. Use social media, flyers, and word-of-mouth to let people know about your drive and how they can help.
3. Collect donations of pet food. Ask local businesses if they would be willing to donate items or gift cards that can be used to purchase pet food. You can also hold collection events at schools, churches, or community centers.
4. Deliver the donations to the chosen organization. Be sure to let them know how much food was collected and who organized the drive!
Sheets Blankets Or Towels
Bedding material is very needed in shelter settings, and shelter cats go through this stuff pretty fast. Accidents, chewing, clawing, and general use make these items hard to keep in stock.
Shelters tend to accept sheets, blankets, and towels regardless of whether they are new or used, so long as they are clean and arent completely falling apart, though not all do. Ask your local shelter if they accept these items.
How Do I Donate Unused Cat Food
If your family pet is unaltered, pet owners may obtain a discount or FREE spay/neuter voucher. If you would like to help support and stock the Pet Food Pantry, you can drop off unopened cat or dog food at any of our Animal Services Centers, or make a monetary online donation through our donation form.

Pets For Seniors Animal Shelter Receives Hundreds Of Donations
PEORIA, Ill. The Pets for Seniors animal shelter in Peoria carried less than five bags of cat food for the shelter just last week.
The non-profit in Peoria is now completely stocked up thanks to those in the community who decided to donate. Through their help, the shelter is now able to feed the cats until January.
On Dec. 9, the shelters debit card was compromised, and the card had to be shut down, meaning they couldnt purchase any cat food for the animals.
With more kittens than the shelter has ever had, leaders there were worried, but an Amazon wish list has been fulfilled by the people in the Peoria community.
All I can really say, and its not enough, is thank you. The support is nothing like we even thought it was going to be. Were a small shelter, and we thought maybe well get some people that bring in donations because we really need them, but its just been widespread. Thank you is not enough to say, said Taiyah Payne, shelter director for PFS.
For those who would still like to donate to the shelter, theyre still looking for donations of the Science Diet Adult 1-6 dry food, wet kitten food, and cleaning supplies. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter, located at 3809 N. Sterling Avenue.

Where Can I Sell My Cat
If you want to sell your cat, then you need to find a reputable animal shelter. Most shelters require proof of rabies vaccination, which costs about $25. Once you have done this, you should visit the shelter at least once a month to check for new cats. The best way to find a cat is to go to local pet stores, and ask them to put up posters around town.

How Your Pet Food Donation Can Help Others In Need
When you have an abundance of something, its only natural to want to share it with others who may not be as fortunate. The same goes for pet food. If you have extra pet food that your furry friend doesnt want or need, consider donating it to a local shelter or rescue organization. Your donation can make a big difference in the lives of homeless and abandoned animals.
Most shelters and rescues rely heavily on donations to care for the animals in their care. They often do not have the budget to purchase large quantities of pet food, so donations are always welcomed and appreciated. When you donate pet food, you can be sure that it will be put to good use.
There are many reasons why an animal may end up in a shelter or rescue. Some have been abused or neglected, while others have been abandoned by their owners. Many of these animals come from tough backgrounds and have had little to no exposure to human kindness. When you donate pet food, you are helping these animals get the nourishment they need to survive and thrive.
In addition to physical nourishment, your donation can also provide emotional support for shelter and rescue animals. These animals often arrive at their new homes feeling scared and alone. A kind word and a bowl of delicious food can go a long way in making them feel safe and loved. When you donate pet food, you are helping to make a difference in the lives of these deserving creatures.
Adopt A Dog Or Cat Today
Every year thousands of animals are dropped off at the side of the road because owners didn?t properly spay or neuter their pets, resulting in unwanted puppies and kittens. Other times, pet owners simply cannot afford to take care of an animal anymore or they are moving to a home that won?t allow them to bring their beloved pet with them. No matter what the reason, there are thousands of homeless pets on the streets of cities and communities all over the country. But, there don?t have to be. An additional 6 to 8 million animals are already finding homes in shelters all across the country.
With the help of animal shelters, these animals can find homes. If you are in the market for a new pet or you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to keep your pet anymore, here are a few reasons you should choose an animal shelter:
If you are in search of a family-friendly pet, check your shelter first. Many shelters have puppies and kittens but you may find that your heart opens up to an older animal. When you choose to adopt an animal for a local shelter, you can be guaranteed that your animal has been monitored and checked out by a veterinarian before you take them home. Animal shelters try to ensure that pets have received their shots and many dogs and cats will have already been spayed and neutered. Additionally, pets who have been given to the animal shelter from previous homes are more likely to have been exposed to children.

Donate Your Pets Gently
Shelters can always use some extra supplies. Contact your local shelter or rescue group to see if it has a wish list of items it needs, just be sure to clean any supplies before you donate them. Most shelters and rescue groups even have wish lists posted on their websites. Often a shelters wish list will include:

Litter And Litter Boxes

All that poops gotta go somewhere. Shelter cats can especially benefit from litter and litter boxes as they learn to go potty where it is appropriate to do so, and that helps them have a better chance of getting adopted.
Animal shelters often ask for litter boxes, extra litter, and disposable aluminum trays. Make sure the litter boxes are in good shape, preferably new, and have no broken parts.
