Community FoodBank of New Jersey Receives Morgan Stanley Grant to ...

Pros

Fast paced environmentChallenges to solve every dayWorking to help communities in needCaring, interesting colleagues

Cons

Communication issues between departmentsMust have the drive to problem solve dailyMust be able to work transparently and roll with the punches

Pros

Know your work is contributing to helping millions of your neighbors put food on the table. Decent insurance plans. Efforts to reward employees with events, town hall meetings, swag. Very safe COVID policies, some find it annoying but I am happy about it.

Cons

Since COVID, the organization has grown by leaps and bounds but not in every department. This means some are well equipped and staffed while others are not. There is very high turnover in all departments, but especially those in Operations or reliant on operations. They do not pay warehouse staff or drivers enough, especially considering what the C-Suite and VP levels make Certain leadership is ineffective which cripples the ability to reach the goals they put in place. Onboard training is insufficient and rushed so no one feels like they know what they are doing, unless they somehow make it a year at which point they have seen enough on their own to understand. HR means well but does not do enough to make sure employees are trained for their jobs or happy.
