When you get food from a Food Bank partner, you are entitled to these basic rights:

  • to receive food and/or meals at no cost
  • to NOT be required to participate in a religious event, or pay dues as a condition of receiving food
  • to NOT be refused service or discriminated against based on your race, color, age, religion, national origin, disability, gender, sexual orientation or political affiliation
  • to be treated with respect and dignity at all times
  • to NOT be required to show proof of income, identification, citizenship, driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, or any other documentation

TCAP offers low-cost spay and neuter services to cats and dogs across North Texas starting at just $35. Appointments are required for all spay and neuter surgeries. Your pet must weigh between 2 lbs and 80 lbs and be at least 10 weeks old and younger than 5 years old to be sterilized at TCAP. If old enough, a current rabies vaccine is required or can be provided on the day of the scheduled surgery for $5. TCAPs spay and neuter program is only for healthy pets, pets with pre-existing conditions should see a full-service veterinarian for their sterilization.

All dogs must arrive on a tight leash, and all cats must be in an individual hard-sided carrier. Learn more about our spay and neuter services by selecting your pets species below!

CTFB has notified Partners of a nationwide Product Recall. This recall is due to possible contamination of Kraft Heinz Capri Sun Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink Blend products as of 8/16/2022. Read official USDA announcement and product detail here.

CTFB has not purchased affected items therefore it was not available on the shopping list, however, its possible these items could have been a part of food received through Agency Retail Pick-up or as a part of other donations.

What To Expect When Visiting A Food Pantry Food Distribution Or Mobile Food Pantry

When you arrive, the agency representative will ask you to fill out a basic form to show that you live in the area and ask that you declare that you need help with food.

Consider bringing a food cart or several reusable bags to take your food to your final destination. Assistance may be limited. Be sure to ask how often you may visit or use services.

Many of our partners provide additional support services such as help paying for bills, job training, health services and help with transportation. You may be required to provide additional information to the agency to receive help.

Donating Instead Of Completing Hours For Tcap

You may be able to donate funds in lieu of completing hours. To do this, you must be in compliance with the terms of your probation and your Probation Officer must initiate a referral for you to become eligible. Please talk to your Probation Officer for eligibility.

If you have been approved by your Probation Officer, you may donate online at www.centraltexasfoodbank.org/TCAP. Donations are not refundable.

We report donations on a weekly basis to TCAP, so there will be a delay from when you complete a donation to when your Probation Officer sees it.

Your First Tcap Volunteer Shift

On your first day volunteering at the Food Bank:

  • Bring your CSR Placement Agreement form provided by your Probation Officer. This form states your offense, Cause Number, and that you have been assigned to complete hours with the Central Texas Food Bank.
  • Bring a government-issued photo ID

Tell the Volunteer Engagement staff member at the check-in desk that you are here for your first day of TCAP volunteer service. We will verify that you are eligible to volunteer and ensure your account is correctly configured so that your hours are reported to TCAP. If you do not verify your registration, your volunteer hours may not be reported to TCAP.

Donating Instead Of Completing Hours

You may also be able to donate funds or food in lieu of completing hours. Please talk to your lawyer, judge, or other community service contact in order to determine if this is possible. Please scroll to the bottom of this page for our scheduled closures when were unable to accept in-person donations.

Please note due to COVID-19, we are not writing receipts for food donations at this time.

If youve been approved by your community service contact to make a monetary donation, you may donate online at www.centraltexasfoodbank.org/CSR. Donations are not refundable. You will receive an emailed receipt stating the amount you donated that you can present to your community service contact. Note: the dollars to hours ratio is determined by your community service contact and not by the Food Bank.

Your First Travis County Drug Court Volunteer Shift

On your first day volunteering at the Food Bank:
