Our Community Food Centers are direct-to-families food pantries operated by the Atlanta Community Food Bank and its volunteers. We establish CFCs in communities where local resources are insufficient to meet the needs of families living with food insecurity. CFCs will become an integral part of our extensive network of nonprofit partner agencies serving local communities.
While walk-ins are welcome, appointments are encouraged to ensure we have food available.

New Markets Tax Credit Allotment Helps Food Bank Respond To Increased Demand Caused By Covid
BlueHub Capital, a national nonprofit community development finance organization, today announces a $13 million New Markets Tax Credit investment in the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help end hunger and meet increased food insecurity across the state of Georgia.
The Food Bank serves as the central distribution center for more than 700 nonprofit agencies that provide food assistance in 29 Georgia counties, providing food and other critical resources for more than 1 million food insecure people. Over the past year, the Food Bank has distributed the equivalent of 100 million meals.
During the pandemic, we increased our food distribution by 65 percent, said Kyle Waide, president and CEO of the Food Bank. In a typical year, we spend $5.5 million on purchasing food. Last year we spent $20 million. This investment has helped us not only offset expenses but really restore working capital so we can continue to be aggressive in responding to food insecurity in our community.
BlueHub Capital partnered with Raza Development Fund, the largest Latino Community Development Financial Institution in the US, and PNC Tax Credit Solutions Group, a PNC Real Estate business, which purchased the NMTC, for a combined $33 million NMTC investment. This deal resulted in a $5.7 million in subsidy to the Food Bank, which will support adding 81 new permanent full-time positions, retaining 159 permanent full-time employees, and helping fund the distribution of 107 million pounds of food in 2022.

In Partnership With Feeding America The Siemens Foundation Is Providing Six* Million Meals To People In Need Through Local Food Banks Across The Country
The Siemens Foundation, through its partnership with Feeding America®, today announced a donation of $100,000 to Atlanta Community Food Bank to address the growing need to fight hunger in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. With these funds, the food bank is able to provide more meals to people in need in the Atlanta region, where more than 2,000 Siemens employees live and work.
This donation is part of a larger national effort by the Siemens Foundation to provide six* million meals to Feeding America to support people in need in Atlanta Chicago Malvern, PA Orlando Sacramento and Washington, DC.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank has seen a 300 percent increase in inquiries from people seeking food assistance during the pandemic, said Denise Quarles, member of the Siemens Foundation Board of Directors and head of external affairs, Southeast region, Siemens USA. This commitment through Feeding America represents the Siemens Foundations overall mission to support families and individuals in communities like Atlanta, where we have a major presence.
Aligned with its mission to close the opportunity gap in America, the Siemens Foundation worked closely with Feeding America to provide support to local member food banks that serve people in need.

Atlanta Community Food Bank
Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank provides food and other donated products to more than 750 not-for-profit partner agencies serving 38 counties across north Georgia centered on the metro Atlanta area. Distributing these donations to low-income Georgians, partner agencies provide dynamic links between the local community, the Food Bank and our supporters. We work to fight hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering our community. More than 450 food manufacturers, wholesalers, farmers markets, retailers, brokers, caterers, local food drives and individuals donate food for distribution by the Food Bank. $44,000 donation helps provide meals to thousands of residents in need
CHICAGO & ATLANTA—-Bounteous and FortyFour today announced that they made a collective donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank . This news comes just one week after Bounteous announced its acquisition of FortyFour, an Atlanta-based digital agency.
Raghu Kakarala, Managing Partner at FortyFour, has been involved with the Atlanta Community Food Bank for several years. Kakarala previously served on the advisory board for the ACFB and now sits within the governing board.

Atlanta Community Food Bank Gives $455k In Grants To Partner Agencies
Organizations around the metro-Atlanta area will be able to feed more people thanks to an infusion of cash.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank recently gave $455,000 in grants to over 90 different partner agencies. Each agency, church or community-based food bank received $5,000 to help buy equipment needed to support food storage and distribution, an announcement said.
As the pandemic continues, and rent prices increase, these grants come at a time when the need for food assistance is heightened, the announcement said.
Urban Recipe, a local food bank that partners with ACFB to run food cooperatives across the metro area, has taken advantage of the grant they received.
This allowed us to increase and improve our operations and I think will allow us to continue to grow, said Jeremy Lewis, executive director of Urban Recipe. Itll allow us to move more food, which is ultimately all of our goal. To make sure that were addressing the need of hunger.
With the money, the organization has been able to buy new supplies to help improve the food distribution process. Some of these items include a new electric pallet jack, safer box cutters, tape dispensers, and plastic bins needed to help sort food.
Over time, as volunteers pack and unpack boxes, these items wear out, Lewis said.
Bible Way Ministries International food pantry was able to get a new refrigerator, said Beverly Jones, program manager of the agency that serves more than 200 people twice a month.
Atlanta Community Food Bank Receives $34932 Donation From Ippe 2022

As part of the effort to fight hunger, the 2022 International Production & Processing Expo raised $34,932 for the Atlanta Community Food Bank through its Giving Back to Atlanta campaign. The donation included $22,000 in contributions from IPPE, Hawkins Inc., Heron Innovators and WATT Global Media, with an additional $4,030 provided through contributions from Whimsical Glass and Expo Auctions and $8,902 by numerous individual donations.
We are thankful for the continued support that IPPE and its attendees and exhibitors have given the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Contributions from these valued partners will help provide more than 125,000 meals to families in metro Atlanta and North Georgia, where one in four children face food insecurity each day, says Ben Burgess, corporate relations manager, Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Speeding Up Marketing Rollouts
Initially, the Atlanta Community Food Bank team intended to wait until September to launch its latest ad campaign. But with the increased food shortage caused by the pandemic, the team realized it needed to spread the word and gather donations quickly. Reaching the community started with a schedule of 35-40 fifteen and thirty-second commercials designed to run over the course of three weeks. Wanting to do more to directly contribute to their fundraising goals, Gray Atlanta also ran a 3 Degree Weather Guarantee with the Atlanta Community Food Bank as the months charity, throughout May, which helped spread awareness and provide the food bank with a $1000 donation.
These efforts substantially expanded the food bank’s reach and helped more North Georgia residents find out about their available options. By early June, 6,940 users had signed up for the “Text for Help” SMS system. The food bank saw an immense increase in website traffic while the ads ran, which meant that more people were checking them out and the options it had available to help.
“We just love working with Gray Atlanta and always see success when we advertise with them. We’re always really happy,” Heather says. By partnering with Gray Atlanta during the crisis, the Atlanta Community Food Bank did not just see a much-needed increase in community awareness, they also saw an incredible increase in their ability to provide food for hungry people within the community.

The Food-A-Thon is an annual food drive hosted by the Atlanta Apartment Association and its membership. It is the annual community service project of the Atlanta Apartment Association. All charitable donations collected go to the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help thousands of people who are in need.
Each year AAA’s Food-A-Thon donates millions of meals to help feed Georgia’s hungry. Throughout our 30 year partnership with ACFB, AAA has donated more than 120 Million meals to Georgia families in need.
